Solo exhibition: “Black Thread” consists of drawings

Gallery Tvrđava, Belgrade, Serbia

About the exhibition:

Black Thread is a thematic collection of drawings created in 2015 within the interdisciplinary project Stories for Adults, which deals with various social themes and phenomena. The project lasts several years already and is leading increasingly often to visual art records and sketches similar to the Black Thread composition, which is in part presented in this exhibition space.

The drawings originated in both formal and informal settings, being induced by the process of psychological treatment of persons having suffered the most terrible forms of violence. Black thread, as a symbol of sorrow, is woven through almost every drawing on which dresses float hanging on a “rope” that extends freely into the space.

This exhibition is dedicated to the women who suffered the worst forms of domestic or war-induced violence, as well as to their struggle for mental composure and enormous strength they need to be brave enough for that.
